Solar Club™ Overview
The Solar Club™ is an innovative electricity rate plan designed to optimize cost savings for solar PV owners in Alberta. Users can seamlessly switch between a high electricity rate of $0.30/kWh in the summer and a low rate of $0.125/kWh in the winter, aligning with seasonal solar energy production.

How Does the Solar Club™ Work for You?
- Tailored Rates: If you have solar panels, Solar Club™ offers special rates designed for homes and businesses generating extra energy in sunny months.
- High and Low Rates: Enjoy a higher electricity rate when exporting more energy to the grid and a lower rate for importing more from the grid. These rates apply to both the energy you use and the extra energy you share.
- Flexibility: Switch between low and high rates at any time by submitting a simple "Rate Change Request" online through your chosen Solar Club™ retailer's website.
- Seasonal Switching: Typically, move to the higher rate in spring when you generate more energy, and switch back to the lower rate in the fall when production decreases.
- Easy Joining: Become a Solar Club™ member by making a donation to a local food bank or charity of your choice.
- Bonus Feature - Price Match: When RRO prices exceed 30.0 cents/kWh, Solar Club™ members receive that higher price for both exported and imported energy. It's an extra bonus for you!
